Several developers (including you) may not have a developer website. If this is the case, follow this simple guide on how to make one, and how to add the app-ads.txt file to that website.
In this guide, we'll be showing you how to set up an inexpensive developer website using namecheap.com.
Step 1: Search Namecheap
First, visit namecheap.com. When you arrive, enter your desired domain name into the field. We recommend .xyz domains if you are on a budget, as they are quite inexpensive.
Second, make sure to select Wordpress hosting along with the domain name. The yearly price will save you a significant amount of money compared to most alternatives.
Finally, go ahead to check out.
Step 2: Add The File Manager Plugin
After you complete your purchase, follow through the process of accessing your new website until you have arrived to the Wordpress dashboard. When you arrive, select Plugins, then select "Add New".
Fourth, in the Add Plugins field, enter the keyword "File Manager".
The first result should have the icon of the picture below. Install it.
Step 3: Configuring the app-ads.txt With File Manager
After installing File Manager, go back to Installed Plugins and select "Activate".
Find file manager on the dashboard left sidebar, and open the menu to access the File Manager functionalities. Once there, select the icon to add a file. Make sure to choose TXT: Plain text.
Next, makes sure you rename the new .txt file to app-ads.txt.
Right click on the file. Use "Rename".
Then, open the Code Editor from the same menu. You will see a blank file. Copy the lines from https://support.yodo1.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052124433 into the text file, after which it should look like the photo below. Then, make sure to Save and Close the file:
Having completed this, visit your developer website, adding /app-ads.txt to the end. IF you are successful, you should see what you can see if you visit yodo1.com/app-ads.txt.
